Walk to the Stone 2014
Six thousand Irish immigrants died in Montreal, victims of typhus epidemic, in 1847.
To remember that terrible event and the sufferance of so many ancestors of the Montreal Irish community, the Walk to the Stone is a touching experience, held on May, from the Saint Gabriel's Church to the Irish Commemorative Stone.
His Excellency Dr. Ray Bassett, Ambassador of Ireland to Canada (3rd from left) had a talk in front of the Stone, as well as the National President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Victor Boyle (2nd from left).
Members of D'Arcy McGee's Assembly, the Faithful Navigator Brian McBrien (white cape) and Sir Knights Daniel Sloan and Francesco Barbero (red capes), have been the Honor Guard of the Walk. The Faithful Friar, Rev. Murray McCrory (4th from left), led the prayer. Other members of the Assembly and of the Council 284, like the Recording Secretary and Past Grand Knight Mark Hickey, followed the march.

A good time at Benedict Labre House!
We are pleased to have bought, prepared and served more than a hundred lunches to homeless, this sunday.
A soup, ham, puree, cooked vegetables, chocolate cake and coffee. Not so much for rich people, but enough to bring a wonderful smile on so many faces!
Many thanks to the outstanding institution of the Benedict Labre House (they are constantly looking to volunteers and donations... so... do not wait if you want to contribute... and bring your friends to do the same!).
Special thanks to all the knights that made this event possible, namely Sir Knights Tommy Altenburg, Brian McBrien, Frank Rooney, Chris Tessier, Stanley Wells, John Dike, Giovanni Ruberto, Mark Hickey, Tom Altenburg, and Francesco Barbero.
